Slidderhd I never gave that any thought but if you are serious I could take a look at it. If you want to do it I would need you to take several measurements for me so that we could insure the fit. One other thing if your trunk isn’t made by HD but is and after market deal I need to look at a picture of the bottom and if it is flat as a lot of them are the plate style deal might work better. I have attached two more pictures which might help you understand what I mean. Trapper
My wife thinks it is great! We go on trips that require us to stay in motel for two weeks at a time and it sure is nice to have the extra room to carry our stuff and it’s great to have a place where you can lock it up. Even on day trips you can store your helmets coats and gloves when you go in to eat. It doesn’t move around but I will say it does make the bike more top heavy. If you plan things though you try to put the heavy stuff in the saddle bags and the lighter stuff on top I have found that makes a big difference.
Yea, Kenny, the owner of Harley in Eastgate, sold it to me about 16 years ago. At a swap meet at Cincinnati Gardens. $10.00. It also had a seat pole for an old FL in the trunk. Now I got something to put it on. It is old, big and ugly. Kerry said "your not putt'n that thing on our bike". She also said if I bought the Triumph that she would clean it.
I said yea and I won't CIYM.
I put an HD trunk on my red and black 08 R111T and then when I traded it in on a 2011 blue R 111T I had it painted and move it to the new bike. I used the same idea of using the existing rack to bolt it to and all together I have put over 20k miles on it with the big boss on the back with no problems. Trapper
****. You have a Rocket and a Tbird. I have to trade my Tbird to get my Rocket Touring. I'm in the process of dealing now and came across your picture. Now I feel bad.
Does the backrest on the luggage rack bolt on, or are you guys cutting it off? I really want to do something like this but don't want to destroy the original parts to do it.
