I've been away for many years and am struggling to find answers to questions I have. I have an 05 Rocket classic that I'm installing a ram air kit with torrs and cat delete. Can this be ridden with a 12 minute tune untill I get it to a dealer who is 5 hours away to do a proper tune? I assume no, that's why I'm asking. If not where can I buy the proper cable and tune to install?
Any recommendations on removing secondaries?
Hi! I'm a lazy old fart, and too tired to look it up for you, but if you do some searching on this site, about Tune Ecu, you'll find all kinds of the information you're looking for. I don't think any dealer will touch your bike with the modifications you've made. There are some good tunes listed for your setup, and it will run great with the right map.

the tune ecu will open the secondarys to 100%
android lap top with lontech cable
android phone with lx/mx dongle
the 12 minute is for idle set after you disconect the battery

Just take the 6 screws out that hold the secondaries in place out and remove the disks. Just make sure not to drop the screws down otherwise you are literally screwed.
No need to disconnect the battery to do the 12 minute tune.
Why risk a screw in the motor when you can type 100 in the tuneecu?
i have never done the 12 minute and probably never will it is just a waste of time and gas.

Because I like a big box of parts I'll never use again. Also that tps has a history of failure so even if it wants to be at 100 it can still not be at 100.
A mechanical solution is usually better anyways. Also just like to tinker. For a shop that does this tune... Yea I agree with you. The tune does actually do a little bit for idle as you have more air now. But who idles anyways. The moment I turn her over I go wot and blast though as many intersections as possible. Anyone who has a rocket has no concern for how much gas they waste!
Thank you for the info, you got me off to a good start. I'm an old fart also lol. When I bought my bike in 06 I was all over this site and could find everything I needed. Me and the Bike were down for many years and I just got it back running. Trying to navigate now is like learning a computer for the first time, But I will figure it out.

I can turn a wrench ok but I'm a total rookie at tuning. It's kind of overwhelming. Back when I bought the Rocket I put Torrs on and the dealer tuned it and said if I did any other mods they would dial it in for me. Those were the good ol days and that dealer is long gone
Do I need to buy a tuneboy or Power camander to do this? Can somebody give me links to the phone cable and tune that I will need?
