'05 r3 standard exhaust mod?? or not??

I have been considering purchasing a custom or at least alternative exhaust, before I lay coins to it, just can't decide whether or not to start chopping the stock exhaust to try to achieve my objectives. More noise (not obnoxious, just more) with more hp and minimal cost. I will soon have the pcv w/at installed so a non-standard tune should not be an issue. Relevant mods are 3k&n, removed secondaries and cat box.
any opinions appreciated.
