Anyone replaced their brake lines with stainless steel gear that's quality and will last the life of the bike? One never knows with OEM stuff, apparently. Also, now that I've started with stainless clutch and throttle cables, the ugly black brake lines bother me.
Spiegler has a kit for the R3...
So after my break down of the throttle sleeve tab sans heated grip, I ordered Kury grips.
It looks like the tank is hinged and comes up like a hood. How does that happen?
The rest seems pretty straight forward. The wiring runs inside the grip and through the handlebar hole then connects to...
I have 2 or 3 seats for a R3 Touring for sale.
One is a custom job. A true Road Sofa...the most comfortable seat you'll ever own. It's in two-tone blue marine grade vinyl with no backrest but guaranteed to be super comfortable. I'm asking $165 shipped.
The other is the Triumph comfort...
I posted this in the Tourer section but I felt it important enough to re-post here. I just finished installing the Rivco risers on my R3T. Went pretty smooth with one hitch. If you decide to install a set on your bike make sure the bolts supplied actually fit the risers. On the stock risers...
I just bought a set of Rivco risers and have some clutch cable questions. The instructions say to remove the clutch cable from the handlebar lever and re-route the cable but I dont see where this would work without first disconnecting the cable from the lever down below, alongside the engine...
Hi lads and maybe ladies;
Anyone know how to change the time on the bikes clock?
I don't have access to my manual this afternoon and I can't find it on google.
Cheers.
Love the bolt on stuff, even though it's limited. Not really keen on the McQueen gear. Are there any straight forward Rocket Tees? Not the caricature steroid looking images, but more dignified Tees, hats, jackets?
Not sure how to put this but here goes:
I have 2 stock touring seats.I believe the one that is now on my 08T is a gel seat. I need a backrest bad and I just dont want to pony up over 500 bucks for the Triumph long haul seat and back rest. Utopia makes a rest for the classic but the classic...
Hey guys, this question goes out to those using the specially formulated tune for our R3T developed by Wayne Tripp (PowerTripp). Does it make any difference in what type of air filter system being used. I currently have a K&N drop in. Does the new RamAir system work well with this tune. I also...
Probably a redundant question, but when changing out the tire, is it the consensus that the shaft needs to be inspected and greased, regardless of Triumph's claims it's maintenance free?
Which part of the shaft are we talking about here that isn't already lubricated?
The oil in the bevel...
Hello everyone!!
My wife and I have been riding an 2013 R3T for a year and a half now and enjoy it very much.
I have not taken the time yet to ride a Roadster.
Are the rides and handling the same?
Are they the exact same bike but one is dressed up more?
If you take the hard bags off the Tour...
Its a reality now. I am now the proud owner of my first Triumph. Bought it from Captain Bob. Its a 2008 with 14k well cared for miles on the clock. Should be shipped from Mass early next week. I went with Federal for the shipping. All I need for it is the front crash bars and hi-way pegs and a...
Greetings Guys,
I have a R3T solo bucket seat with a solo luggage rack for sale. My R3T is my second R3, the first being a 2006 Classic. Liked the bike, but when the 2008 R3T first came out, I immediately fell in love with that and ended up changing over. At any rate, I find the dual seat...
Well, I bought my 2013 R3T back in November and was able to put about 200 miles on it before winter blew in. It's been cold cold cold but little snow this year in Nebraska. I did buy a bucket seat and backrest and am really itchin' to ride the beautiful beast. I gets harder as I get older to...
Looking to get a horn on the bike that isn't silly. At first I thought just to replace the stock with a serious air horn but then found the "Screaming Banshee" info - it adds the air horn but doesn't replace the stock, so you can still give a friendly toot or hold the button down a quarter...
I'm not 100% happy with how the bike looks with black tires, tbh. The front especially looks chunky to me, so since it's tire time anyway I figured why not try to find whitewalls?
The front is a no-brainer, I suppose - Metzeler Marathon ME880 come in the appropriate 150 with WWW - wide white...
Here are some shots of my 2008 R3T with 6 piston Hayabusa calipers.
Some may have a more expensive or exotic 6 pot setup. I just really
enjoy using my mechanical design background to make one-off parts
for my Rocket. This complete setup ran me about 40% the cost of buying
some off the shelf...
