So I wanted aluminum panniers for my bike, but they are way too expensive, so I saw these in harbor freight for $39 bucks a piece. Mounted with easy brackets, and a little sheet aluminum reinforcement on the inside.
What do you guys think?
I want to put panniers on my 2013 roadster (something bigger and more secure than the triumph leather saddlebags). I'm sure this will involve changing the stock exhaust into some sort of shorty, and getting a frame made up, but has anyone any recommendations as to which panniers to use? Ideally...

Hi all
As a rough guide when fitting after market panniers to a R3R what distance should there be between the bottom of the pannier and the exhaust to ensure the the bottom of the pannier doesn't touch the exhaust when the suspension is under compression during bumpy road conditions

I got a set of Triumph leather panniers with my 08 rocket and they are falling to bits.
The metal studs that hold the buckles and straps on have nearly all broken and last week I took them to a luggage repairer who replaced all the studs(quite cheaply).
He also commented on how weak the studs...
