I have noted that a number of R3 owners have opted for the Kuryakyn ISO grips. I have just fitted the Black ISO grips to my ride and thought I would share the experience, as the options are limited in the Black range for the R3 and subsequently they present a few extra hurdles when installing...
Hello everyone!
I would like to get some nice grips for our new Rocket III Touring SE.
I would also like to get something like a Throttle Boss to give my hand some comfort for longer rides.
What are you people using and how do you like them?
How easy/hard is it to replace grips on the bike...
Hey guys what grips do you recommend. I have a 2007 and the stock grips are horrible.
I do like the idea of heated grips. Im 6'5" 250lbs
Thank you so much for your time I just really want to hear what has really worked for you guys.
Interested in the heated hand grips, seems like the best alternative to an aftermarket fairing. Would like to know if anyone has them and if they are any good.
Thinking of putting heated grips on my rocket, only thing that gets cold on me during my late fall/ early spring rides are my hands. I like to ride till the salt goes down.
I should be receiving my Kuryakyn ISO grips any year now (post office on strike) and was wondering about the Bar End Weights I have on the stock grips. Is removing the weights going to cause any problems? Also, how do I remove the weights and the grips once I go to install the ISOs?
Cheers...
Hello, I would like to know if Kuryakyn grips would work with the factory installed heated grips? I need larger diameter grips but not sure if the heating mechanism is inside the bar and if it is can I just install new grips? Thanks
I was wondering if anyone else out there has had this issue or just me. I bought my 2008 R3T brand new in March 2008. I had the heated grips installed shortly after but after less than 5000 miles the throttle cable broke off the grip and I had to limp home at idle speed. Triumph replaced them...
Are these an easy install? And aren't they a little longer? I would like a longer grip so that I could use the throttlboss on the highway but have room for my hand on the grip only around town.
just installed oxford hot grips on the rocket, after reading article on web bike world about them. the install was a little time consuming but not too tuf. they come with a 3 way toggle switch (hi, lo, off). on hi the heat came through my gloves in 10 min. then turned to low and rode with warm...
I had the day off from work today, and it was above freezing. I ended up putting on my Kuryakyn grips, and Emgo mirrors. After I finished, I took her out for a ride (of course).
They always seem to run better when you've just added something new.:D
Yesterday I was going to ride the Rocket to work, and because it has gotten colder down here in North Florida, the Rocket would barely turn over....so I took the Mustang into work instead. This was a little disappointing to me as I pride myself in that when it is it's turn in the "driving...
Just wanted to give a thumbs up on the Triumph handlebar heated grips. They come with two settings...hot and hotter, and they felt good while I was riding home tonight.

I noticed on the ride to Nashville that the grips, especially the throttle side, were getting a bit slippery. I didn't want the Britman tan line above my wrists so I rode without gloves and got the "Neopolitan Tan" which has the back of my hand really tanned.....first joint (rings) a mild tan...
Here is the lowdown of getting the Throttlemeister to work with Kuryakyn grips.
Just as I had thought, with a little bit of work, they are (can be made) compatible.
The Throttlemeister comes with different length spacers that are about 5/8" diameter and some shims which are used to position...
Yikes... I installed the heated grips today. Some observations:
1. They are smaller in diameter than the stock grips and have a pattern in them. Sometimes a pattern in the grips can be uncomfortable, I don't know about these yet, I haven't ridden it to find out.
2. If you do these yourself...
I have heated grips and they come with just black rubber grips and I asked my dealer if I could put the Kuryakyn hand grips on and he said that he doesn't know he would need to take them off to see. And he wasn't sure if they would heat up as good. Has any one replaced the hand grips to the nice...
