Left side is the stock intake cam
Right side the stock exhaust cam
For some reason Triumph made the exhaust cam bigger
As there will be quite a few cams around that have been replaced by tuning cams, it should be easy to get a stock ex-cam and use it at intake.
The power gain will not be huge...
It is time for valves to be checked for clearances. My questions are 1) should I be considering getting some cam shaft mods done? 2) what are my options? 3) what do I need to adjust the valves myself? Thanks
Hi
My cam cover gasket has started weeping oil on the back right corner [as yer sat on the bike looking down] .. I'm hoping to get this done under warranty but you never know! Anyway I have looked at the sticky at the top of the forum page and was wondering if you have to remove anything...

Succinctly,
Had the cam cover problem. Replaced by dealer under warranty. Thx for the advice fellas.
Got it back, ran it to work the next day, once through downtown traffic into garage the temp light came on, and when I parked it a minute later the rad fluid poured from the reserve bottle and...
Getting ready to call it a day but on the cam tensioner if you have 10.80mm after pushing it in with your finger do you need a spacer? Never mind got it 16mm or better requires a spacer.
I know there's discussion on cam cover gaskets, but does anyone use a sealant when replacing a cam cover gasket? I'm considering a thin coat of Permatex Black RTV. Thanks guys!! :)
After measuring the the valve clearances I found the number 3 exhaust valves slightly too tight i.e. .12 and .14, they should be at least .15 mm. In order to replace the shims with the correct thickness the cam ladder and cams have to be removed. The manual says the cam ladder bolts are...

after 40,000 trouble free miles. My question is I have herd that the cam chain should be replaced after 30,000 miles is this true, it seems a bit soon to me.
Alright I replaced the leaking cam cover gasket, easy job will pass along a few tips to make it a wee bit easier for anyone else doing it.
- When the new gasket arrives (if you ordered it online) take it out of the package and leave it for a good day to uncurl as they just ram it in the...
Okay my 2011 Roadster has the famous cam cover gasket problem, as is a wee bit is sticking out causing a wee oil leak at #1, funny my 2005 std with 70000miles is still running flawlessly.
Where is the best place for a new gasket I have used bike bandit before but usually have to wait a while for...
I know this topic has been beat to death, but I gotta get this off my chest. WTF is up with the timing chain wear? At 25k miles I started to hear the intermittent "click-click" and I checked the tensioner depth which was at 17.2mm. I installed the spacer and tried it for another 500 miles and...
Have been posting the odd video made from the sidecar on my 2010 Roadster. Nothing too exciting, just vids as I'm traveling. Not going hard, just doing what the Rocket does well....eating miles easily. Some from other places might like to see some Australian scenery and roads etc. There's a few...
Hiya all,
Have any of you guys replaced the cam chain yourselves? How big/hard/easy is it to do?
Got a bit of noise on my 04 on low revs and although only about 24k mileage the adjuster must be reaching its max adjustment as measurement inside to plunger is way more than the 16mm max, more like...
