Pulled the Trigger, Greetings from Yosemite!

Hey from down in the valley, 395 is a good place for the Rocket to stretch its legs....but it has no real boundaries, just back from a couple thousand miles in the last week from the twisties in Colorado.

Tourer sits too high for my short legs.

Really the headline should state "my legs are too short for the perfect height of the tourer. ";)

Lifetime Honda guy just trying to get info on Triumph

I'm 59 and have owned most all brands over 45 years. I own a 2013 R3T. I commute and tour ride alone, have rode 49 states. The R3T is unique. If the R3T did not own you on your first sit on it, buy either the Honda or Harley.

    R3T Tires

My experience with the metzlwrs was about 5-6k miles. Its why i switched to avons which were more like 10k.

    R3T Tires

Yeah, I think I'm going to give the commanders a go. I've been real happy with the avons but they have not been updated since introduction, while everyone else has revised their design once or twice...the extra miles between replacement, a definite plus!

    R3T Tires

2015 with 65k miles, I hate to even start this, but here goes. Been running Avon Cobras and they were a big improvement over Bridgestones. However, reading reviews and all that, it seems Michelin Commander II's (And Metzler RoadTechs in some circles) are promising more miles and equal handling...

    "Cycle world" magazine...

Road Runner has all the nice features CW converted to (size, binding, glossy) and is great for long riders. Excellent ride articles and usable details. Glad my CW subscription is expiring, the new content is crap.

    Whaked Out Fuel Gauge

Hmmm....yes, mine is a touring. Not sure if it's a plate, unless it is sideways. It looks like a wire rod across the opening. I'll have to take another look.

    Whaked Out Fuel Gauge

Sorta related, what do you guys call "full? I'm in CA and you have a seal thing on the hose you have to hold back to fill a bike. That being said, i can see a bar in my tank that is easy to fill to, but you can still get nearly a gallon in on top of that bar if I work at it.

    1st gear selection problem

Rocket and a lotus. Should make for an interesting comparison drive/ride. Lotus is a definite exotic over here. A few days without family togethers is a nice add to any holiday. ;) ha.

    1st gear selection problem

Sounds great! Rocket is great for tripping....making a quick run down to Tombstone tomorrow...in low 60's in California, expecting low 70's mostly along the route.though morning and some passes will be in high 30's.

    1st gear selection problem

Some miles on the bike will help smooth things out but my 13 with 55k still likes a clutch release in neutral prior to a N to 1st shift. Consider it foreplay.
