Contemtplating trading the rocket for a ktm 1290 adventure

Do what I did. Find a good used adv bike. I bought my '96 BMW R1100GS for $5,500. Perfect condition 67k miles. Had it 6 months and love it for around town and trails. Ride the R3R for long trips but would take the BMW anywhere as well.

Do 5 3/4" Daymakers fit into stock buckets?

To me projection to the corners of the road are much better than stock. The pattern on low beam is quite wide and on high beam you get quite a lot of reach IMHO.

Do 5 3/4" Daymakers fit into stock buckets?

Put the Daymakers on this weekend an the only thing I can say is WOW! What a difference. The visibility with this upgrade in lighting is just incredible. Pricey, but by far one of the best upgrades I have ever done to a bike. Thanks to those who first tried this out! I am stoked! :D

    Air Intake Question

I may just cancel the order and get them through AutoZone.

    Air Intake Question

Actually, I got a better deal on them through Amazon. Granted it was like $2. Now I wish I had gone Auto Zone, as I would already have them. Amazon does not show they have shipped yet.

    Air Intake Question

Same. Javelina are bad news here. They love to gather at the side of the road and scatter when you ride by...sometimes in front of you.

    Air Intake Question

Paid $320 each for them from the link on the Daymaker thread. Pricey to be sure and not an investment I made lightly. But my old eyes are not as good as they used to be and night riding is becoming difficult. I am hoping this will extend that for me. Texas riding after dark in the hill country...

    Air Intake Question

Rick, that will be how I am doing mine. I hope the filters come in tomorrow. Daymakers are here, so I at least have that if they dont.

Do 5 3/4" Daymakers fit into stock buckets?

Ok, got my lights in. What did you do with the Red wire? I take it the 3 prong harness is a direct plug in, but what about the red wire? NVM, found this LED Headlights | R3Owners

    Air Intake Question

Yea, using a cover tends to work quite well. The one on my Harley is now totally exposed except for the cover and I have had no issues since I switched.

    Air Intake Question

Fully exposed I think you are probably looking for trouble without the expensive covers. but just enough coverage to keep the rain from falling directly on them is fine. I had a Thruxton that had open filters and never had a problem with them. But they were on throttle bodies and not carbs.

    Air Intake Question

I have run K&N stage 1 intake on my Harley for 40,000 miles through every kind of weather. So completely open behind the chrome (open back) cover. Never had any intake issues, ever. Yes, a prefilter is nice, but really not necessary especially for what K&N charges for them. The oiled filter...

    Air Intake Question

I find it interesting that we talk about the triple K&N conversion, but I can't seem to find a good write up on the process. Of course, it seems pretty straight forward; - Remove Seat - Lift tank - Remove all existing ducting - Create new storage box under seat (fill) - Install K&N RU-2780's on...
