Thanks for the welcome and the feedback. I think you just have to accept that the transmission is not the Moto GP precision you find in sport bikes and realize it is closer to a tractor. :) I just cruise and enjoy.
I downloaded the repair manual for it before I even bought the bike. I already bought the recommended Mobil 1 oil for it. I plan on changing it over the weekend. According to the Triumph dealer I bought it from the bike was on consignment and past due for its change based on time not distance...

I always felt as long as you ride a bike, great. It doesn't matter what. Did you know how a scooter and a fat women are alike? They are both fun to ride on but you don't want your friends to see you.

Thanks for the response. The bike does have cat less exhaust on it. I will check my vin for updates on second gear also. Is there a link for suggested mods and learning?
I just purchased a 2005 Rocket with 8000 miles only driven by a little old Man on Sundays. I was looking for a cruiser and my other bike is a 2013 Kawasaki ZX14 and I wanted something with similar attitude. I am thinking a turbo or Carpenter kit would just about be right. Stock for now.
