  1. Twist Clutch

When Biker Build Off was on Russ Mitchell was using those on some of his entries. Never seen one in the real world tho.
  2. hooked lights on trunk

Man, that sounds disgusting. I hope you're using rot gut vodka and not wasting any good stuff in that concoction. edited to cut down the quote
  3. 10K service or 2year service or both?

10k service should include oil/filter change.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Unfortunately I can't make Maggie Valley, but Native 1 is putting together a Texas Salvo for next summer and I'll be there for sure.

Hello everyone. Joined the site a couple years ago and haven't spent much time here but looking to expand my horizons a bit. I've got an 07 Classic Tourer that I'm on pretty much every day of the year. Looking forward to participating.
  6. So I put my 25" Clearview shield on today....

I have to admit the protection was pretty impressive. It was 25F when I rode home and I had my face shield up comfortably. Don't think I'll want to keep it on all the time- I like a little wind- but in the winter time I think once I get it adjusted right I'll be pretty happy with it.
  7. So I put my 25" Clearview shield on today....

I rode home from work this morning (the whole 3 miles) and thought about it. There's some adjustment room available, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it work. I only plan on using it for trips and winter, so I should be ok. Thanks for the tips, guys. idk, I was thinking about the...
  8. So I put my 25" Clearview shield on today....

And I f'ing hate it. The top of the shield sits right in my eyeline. I'm thinking of getting rid of it and getting the 3" over stock, but we'll see. I've only ridden it the 3 miles to work tonight so I'll have to give it some more time but my gut feeling is I'll be ditching it. I'll have to...
  9. GROUP BUY TUNE-BOY

    me too
  10. Got my clearview shield cheap on ebay

None of the clearview shields do. You not only have to have the fixing kit but a Triumph shield to swap out because they don't come with any hardware. The clearview is pre drilled to bolt on to the hardware that comes with a Triumph shield.
  11. Got my clearview shield cheap on ebay

Just picked up a new 25" Clearview shield on ebay for $120, $12 shipping. I was planning on getting one this spring before I started doing some touring in the summer but that was too good of a deal to pass up.
  12. 10k service cost?

John, thanks for the heads up, but I'm still in El Paso, won't be headed east for a couple months yet. It was ~70 and sunny over the weekend, now 55 and windy as hell here. We're headed to Greune the first weekend of June, looping around Ballinger on the way down and then headed back...
  13. Battery life

    First service was about 250.
  14. 10k service cost?

I asked this question at the bottom of another thread but thought I'd see what response it would get on its own. Dealer tells me $400+ oil and filter for the 10k service. Does that sound about right to you? I'm calling another dealer a couple hundred miles away to see what their price is...
  15. Battery life

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take the battery out tomorrow and have it checked. The bike is going in for the 10k service as soon as I get my truck inspected so I'll have them check out the ignition switch while they're at it. Speaking of 10k service, the dealer says $400 plus oil and...
  16. Battery life

Quite literal- I got nothing. After a couple of on/off tries the lights beside the odometer and the odometer flashed- when I turned the key to the "off" position. Never had any problems before today, and since I jumped it I've kicked it over maybe 10 times to check it out and it fires up...
  17. Battery life

I was riding the bike this morning, went out to mom's house to do some work for her. Came out, jumped on the bike and turned the key....nothing. Deader than a doornail. Jumped it with no problem and now it's starting right up but it got me thinking about battery life. What's been your...
  18. Tire change- what an ordeal

After 11k miles I wore my Metzler down to the belts. I ordered the tire and took the bike down to a local shop to install. After 30 mins of 3 of them trying to muscle the tire off the rim they gave up and cut it off. Jeez! I had read a couple of posts on here that the tire could be a bit...
  19. Triumph Oval Mirrors

http://www.fasteddysports.com/?page_id= ... rch=Search $40 for the pair, and they screw right on to the Triumph stems. SOOOO much better than those ridiculous stock mirrors. Unbelievable difference in sight lines.
  20. Triumph Oval Mirrors

Lol, thanks. I would've asked about the mirrors, but I put the Honda ones on less than a month ago. Great looking mirrors, btw. And I feel your pain about the complexity of the job- I know just enough mechanically to break something.
