  1. Is this Antifreeze in the Oil?

Here's a picture of the right side of the engine where the a seal is coming out. I'm not sure if this is the head gasket or if it's just some other seal, so maybe someone could enlighten me. What I do know is that its coming out and its leaking.
  2. Is this Antifreeze in the Oil?

So I pulled the cap off the radiator and it started to push coolant out before I even had the cap fully turned, so the radiator was pressurized even after sitting without running for a few days. My guess, this is why the coolant was slowly leaking into the new oil, it was escaping from high...
  3. Is this Antifreeze in the Oil?

I didn't notice any, it looked like used oil. When I smell under the oil cap, it does have the smell of antifreeze so I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Any idea how difficult it is to replace a head gasket on these bikes?
  4. Is this Antifreeze in the Oil?

I was changing the oil on my R3R and noticed this green color after I had put 3 quarts in. I'm pretty sure this is antifreeze oozing in, but thought I'd check with you guys to get a second opinion. Its dark and I had to use a flashlight, so I'm not sure if I'm seeing something behind the oil...
  5. Luggage Rack and Sissy Bar - high cost

I agree, I'd rather not have it, but seeing as I have to carry a laptop to and from work with me, that's really my only option for mounting a bag on the bike. It would be a permanent fixture on mine.
  6. Luggage Rack and Sissy Bar - high cost

Anyone know for sure if the Touring sissy bar/rack will fit the Roadster? I would believe it does not due to the tire/fender width difference.
  7. Luggage Rack and Sissy Bar - high cost

I agree, a nice rack always costs extra, but I'd be willing to accept a used rack any day for half the cost. If only women worked out that way. My roadster had the rack/sissy bar on it when I was looking to buy it, but at the last second the guy said he didn't want to sell the rack with it and...
  8. Luggage Rack and Sissy Bar - high cost

I can't believe how much a new luggage rack costs ($400) and it doesn't even come with the back pad for the sissy bar or the emblem, those are even more money beyond that. Does anyone know of someone with a wrecked rocket, or someone who doesn't want their rack anymore? Or maybe if someone has...
  9. Rivco handlebar risers on 2011 R3R

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll just ignore the instructions for the most part and make it work as best I can for my bike. As for rerouting the brake lines if I need to, since they are ABS, I have read elsewhere that I would need to take the bike in to get them to bleed the lines of the air...
  10. Rivco handlebar risers on 2011 R3R

I got these for Xmas and the instructions say to reroute lines and install an extension bar, but things are not where they say they should be in the install instructions. For instance, the brake line T connection on the front forks is on the left, not the right as the instructions say, and that...
  11. Bridgestone Exedra Max Radial

Thanks for the tip, picked up a rear for later in 2013 when the stock wears out.
  12. I like this seat

That is sad, it looks awesome, would probably buy one if they started making them again.
  13. Recommended battery tender or float charger

Thanks for the quick feedback. I decided to give the Black & Decker brand a try as it was a few bucks cheaper and came with more adapters and also supported 6 volt batteries. If it works well, I'll let you guys know. It comes with a cigarette lighter adapter which I'm thinking would be a...
  14. Recommended battery tender or float charger

I have a cheap harbor freight float charger laying around, but something tells me I should not use that on the R3R. Is there a recommended float charger / battery tender that would work well on our bikes that I can leave on the bike all winter long without worry?
  15. When Did The Tranny Probs End?

You can always go with a newer rocket touring model, they all have the forward controls. Downside is they are tuned for less HP but that can be overridden, and they will always have a smaller rear tire due to space, so slightly less traction, but easier burn outs if you want a glass-half-full...
