    The Manual - Corrections/Omissions

The manual states to tighten the hose clamps on the air filter box to intake headers to 10Nm which is ridiculous.

I didn't use the jack for this because things are easy enough to get to sitting on a stool. Gimlet asked about my lift setup which is the only reason it was mentioned in this thread.

I am happy to report that my fuel gauge still works as intended after fuel filter replacement and some soul searching about the fuel level sensor fly lead which I just plugged back in without wrapping it around one of the tubes the way it came out, apparently it doesn't matter. I always take...

    Metzler Cruisetec vs. Avon Cobras

I just put a Cruisetec on the front with my existing Excedra Max on the rear and have no issues leaning it into turns. Looks like I'll stick with that combo and I do like the slightly larger circumference tire on the rear.

Could you post some pics of your tie down system when you have a chance?

I ran across your spline lube somewhere before and have the pages from the manual printed out but if you could link it that would be great.

Sorry for this duplicate as I had intended to post that here to begin with. So far I have replaced the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs, put everything back together and the beast lives. Putting the tank back on was not bad other than that squiggly hose going to the evap canister which...

So far I have replaced the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs, put everything back together and the beast lives. Putting the tank back on was not bad other than that squiggly hose going to the evap canister which resisted but I won. I'm saving the easy parts for last which is oil, oil...

It interferes with nothing so it's probably just my OCD.

10k mile service - DIY (also, Spark Plugs Not Tight & Wire Boots Not Pushed On!)

I was referring to the fuel level sensor fly lead that I unplugged temporarily when replacing the fuel filter. Of course I didn't take a picture beforehand but of well.

After I reassembled it I noticed that the manual said to "Make sure the fly lead is routed between the fuel pump harness and the fuel pump bracket". I simply plugged it back in without routing it around stuff which gave the cable a little more slack than it had originally and it's not binding or...

Riding mode button not working, Menu button working one of ten times

Every time I disconnected my battery the quick shift just worked after enabling it again, I did not know I had to train it.

I'm replacing with the same since I'm going through all this trouble and might as well.

Spark plugs look good. With all the oil levels/leaks talk going on I wasn't sure what to expect but this confirms that I'm not burning oil which there is no other sign of anyhow. The boots were all loose sitting on top of the plugs but the plugs themselves were tight as as a frog's pu$$y.

The electrical connector under the tank is quite easy to pull apart if done properly. In the first pic the tab needs to be pulled up away from the contacts to clear the little catch in the second pic.
