    They are alive again, not sure for how long, took tank off and separated every connection I could find under there, sprayed with contact cleaner and reconnected.

    Ok, back at the bike finally, chased blue/ yellow wire to the connector under tank, turns into Brown wire?? Have power there when ignition on. Nothing when ignition is off. Brown wire disappears into the ignition switch!

    Not yet, process of elimination now I guess, relay seems fine so move on to the next thing in line which I think is the ignition switch. The assistance has been great tho, trying to chase the blue wire out of centre of relay plug now to see where that takes me

    Ok, got a chance to get back to the bike, with ignition on I have power at the blue/yellow wire and power at the blue wire in centre of plug (with relay installed) with ignition off no power on either pin. I also removed the relay and put in a test wire from those pins to eliminate the relay all...

    Thanks for the information, I'll shut myself in the shed next opportunity with armed with this information and my test light and see what I can find. I have a manual on pdf but was struggling with where to actually stick the test light.

    I have now pulled the dimmer switch apart and I have no power there, lifted the tank now and removed side covers for access to the relays, not real sure where to go from here. Doesn't seem to be a relay for the headlights according to the manual.

    Not yet, got busy over weekend with plumbing issues that couldn't wait. Will be checking for power at dimmer switch next and work from there. Will keep informed on progress

    I have not had the bike from new. I have however had the tank off, replaced spark plugs ECT. Had a good look around and pritty sure that everything is standard. Think I will open the dimmer switch and have a look, prod around with the test light on the weekend and see what I can find. Cheers

    Do you have any more information? When you say it kills dip beam when starting, do you mean the main headlights? If this relay failed in the open circuit position, that would result in headlights remaining off? Sounds like something for me to look into anyway, just need to find the correct relay...
