You go to the local dealer, order each part, and build a Rocket. I bet it's close. Just the 2 side covers cost over $500. I'm a genius!! I just bought a new one for $17,000, Whatta deal!
Someone ( with a lot of time on their hands ) worked out the overall cost of building a Rocket by buying it in pieces .. it was an outstanding amount of money. Can't remember exactly how much but I know a set of crankcases are $10,000AUD new , so you can imagine.
Yeah, I was ogling the full screen assembly up front for the R3T (would be nice to have a second screen I could cut down to summer length, to go with my taller Clearview replacement) and from what I gathered the whole thing was $700-something. Since the screen was $300 by itself, I figured I'd add up the other little bits separately (still have my original plastic screen obviously) - it shot way past $700 before I was even finished. So the more you split it up, the worse the aggregate cost.

ski, The Man from Milwaukee, has bought a new Rocket!
Kinda like Flo sending off the dead Harley, Rocky, to heaven.
Just warms the cockles of the heart, don't it?
Congrats on the new motor!

I Thank You 1olbull and toast a Milwaukees finest to ya! My avatar is 38 years old on my first bike, BonnieTrumpet. Ratatatatat! The vast majority of my brothers and sisters ride the old technology scoots. Rocketriders are a rare breed. Love riding on engines that turn heads. Last bike being a Valk. Won't be turning heads anymore. (Heads don't turn when your in the lead.>
